How to choose a small-cabin stove
Check the certified low end of the output range before the peak. A cabin spends far more hours needing 10,000 BTU/h than 30,000, and the certified minimum tells you whether the stove can idle there cleanly. Catalytic and hybrid designs hold that low burn best, because the combustor keeps re-burning smoke at damped-down firebox temperatures where a plain secondary-burn stove starts to smoke.
Match the technology to how the cabin is used.
